Barbara Jeanne "Bobbie" Kyle

Barbara Jeanne “Bobbie” (Arey) Kyle Born 10-27-1942 in Charlotte, North Carolina, died 12-13-2020 here in Cottonwood, Az. She was known as Mom, Nana, Grandma, Ma and The Cookie Lady while she worked at Bashas and Fry’s Bakery’s. Mrs. Kyle was raised in and around Wilmington, Delaware, by her parents and siblings. She married her husband of 56 years, A.Richard, “Dick” Kyle, in Delaware in 1964. 1979 Mr. and Mrs. Kyle moved their family to the Verde Valley. Bobbie was always up for an adventure, and she saw moving to Arizona as a big adventure. Mrs. Kyle was a homemaker, then went back to work in 1981, in the grocery/ bakery industry. She was cake decorator for many years until she retired. Mrs. Kyle was also very involved her kids’ lives, Girl Scouts, Little League, Volleyball, Soccer, Swim lessons, Swim Team, “the whole nine” as she used to say. Mr. and Mrs. Kyle took in several of their kid’s friends, and a few of their Grandsons friends, who needed a safe place. Mrs. Kyle was always the first to offer a helping hand when she found out someone was in need. I don’t think she knew how many lives she touched. Mrs. Kyle loved murder mystery like Agatha Christie and Poirot. She read all the books and watched all the movies. She loved the Charlie Chan mysteries and musicals! Fred Astaire and Ginger Rodgers were some of her all-time favorites. She was always inquiring what her grandkids were doing. If she didn’t see CJ enough, she went outside and climbed into whichever car he was working on, or went in his room to see what kind of computer system he was building. Mrs. Kyle loved to bake and decorate everything she baked. She was famous at family gatherings for her chocolate strawberry cake with whip cream icing. She loved to sew and crochet and made lots of things for everyone she knew. Mrs. Kyle is preceded I death by her Parents Harriet B (Carman) Arey and John William Arey Jr., her older sister Loretta “Cookie” (Arey) Glynn, Brother Mike Rodriguez and sister Gladys Rodriguez. Mrs. Kyle is survived by her older brother John “Donnie” William Arey III, her daughter and grandson Robin Kyle and CJ Kyle, her son and Grandson Rick Kyle and Roland Kyle. Mrs. Kyle is also survived by many extended family members, and too many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews to name. Mrs. Kyle had a great sense of humor, she could be a live wire at times, but Mr. Kyle’s calm demeanor kept her feet on the ground. She loved to learn new things, and she liked helping people. She loved to bake and she loved to feed people. She was loving and ornery, she was little but mighty. She had a big heart. She loved hard, cared deeply, and was never afraid to tell her opinion. Mom had a great laugh. We will her smile and laughter, her insights, the love. We miss you Mom. Funeral services will be held at Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 10:00am. She will be laid to rest with her husband at All Souls Cemetery.
