Jody Makuch

It is with great sadness that the family of Jody Makuch announce his sudden passing on Monday, September 7, 2020, at the age of 49.We know Jody is in a better place. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by his wife of 27 years, Joanna; children, Ashleigh, Gabrielle, Hudson, Spencer; parents, Joe Makuch, Wendy Glazier; siblings, Frank Glazier, Matt Makuch; and numerous other family members and friends.Jody has been with the Cottonwood Police Department since January 2000 and was promoted to Commander in November 2009. Commander Makuch was assigned to the Support Services Division. He began his career in law enforcement in 1998 as a Police Officer with Elk City Police Department, Oklahoma. Commander Makuch is a graduate of the 245th session of the FBI National Academy. He has worked various duties to include Corrections, Patrol, Field Training Officer (FTO), SWAT, and Field Training Supervisor. Jody served for seven and a half years in the United States Army prior to his law enforcement career in the United States and served overseas. His various job specialties while serving in the Army included Artillery, Corrections, and Military Police.Jody dedicated his life to serve and protect his family, community, and country. Jody\u0027s life was cut far too short, but was filled with unconditional love and laughter that we will hold in our hearts, and wisdom and memories to stretch throughout our lifetimes.A funeral service in Jody's honor will be held Friday, September 18th at 2:00 PM at Verde Community Church, 102 S.
